It happens sometimes to need an address or a phone number of someone we know. The easiest way to find these things is to start asking our close friends for them.

Not always this is the best solution because we may not find what we need or those we ask don’t have what we are interested in. The persons we are looking for can be our friends or acquaintances but this doesn’t mean that other friends of ours are also friends with the ones we are looking for.

Unless that someone wants to be in these public resources you can’t find anywhere any information about them. Having a cell phone number is like being anonymous if this is what you want. So, it’s hard to find any information about people who have only cell phones or about people who have decided not to be in any public resource.

There are some public resources that are very popular. These are Yellow Pages and White Pages. They refer to a telephone directory and all the phone numbers are put in order. Depending on what you need to find you can search the services offered. This is the base of finding the person you want because this is the way the names and phone numbers are being listed.

The concept of listing people in a Phone Book was built a very long time ago when someone thought that this is an easier way to find someone you need. Of course, in case that someone has a phone number and it is listed in a public resource. The name of Yellow Pages also has a history. The fact that is called Yellow is because all the names, addresses a phone numbers were written on yellow pages. They ran out of normal paper and they had to finish the phone book. So, they wrote the rest of the remaining names on yellow pages.

Nowadays there are online services made after this concept. If you search the web you can find different sites that allow you to find the person you want. You can choose different categories for your search but of course you have to know a little about the people you want to find. So, if you have an address, you can easily find a phone number. It is not always that simple because you may find more people with the same name and you will have to call some of them and hope that in the end and you can find the right person. We have to mention that even online you can’t always find what you want. And I refer here to cell phone numbers. Generally, cell phone numbers aren’t listed in public resources as Yellow Pages or White Pages.
