Uk Phone Numbers
I have had a problem in the past few months and one of the things it involved was the fact that one of my very good friends, that is currently living in England somewhere close to London but not exactly within the city, has a very difficult to remember phone number. Like most UK phone numbers hers is also very difficult to remember.
Why are UK phone numbers so difficult or why do they seem so difficult? I can’t quite put my finger on it but I think that it’s because of the randomly elected three, four or sometimes five number digits that you have to dial before gaining access o different UK regions. Yes, in order for someone to be able to get through a certain region, they need to dial a certain number ahead of the actual number and based on the region, unlike other countries, this certain number can consist out of a 3, 4 or sometimes but rarely 5 number digit.

This is how things with the UK phone numbers pretty much are. Moving on, the problem that I experienced was because of this different digits because my friend, who was formerly in a three digit area had somehow become unreachable. It was only until I went online that I discovered the true problem, this being that the region my friend was living in a place that had been “converted” into a 4 digit area. So yes, this is one of the big reasons why UK phone numbers seem so difficult. I do not know the reason why they had to change the numbers, what was not working for them to do that? Also, why do they have to have different numbers for different parts of the country? I mean different yes, but what about the amount of the digits? What’s the logic in all that?

Leaving all this aside I was finally able to get a hold of my friend, which surprisingly, had no idea about the fact that she’d been switched to a different telephonic area. I mean is this even normal to not even manage to inform the people about this? Or maybe it was my friend’s fault for not noticing the big change and the fact that whenever she tried to call someone she did manage but she wasn’t getting too many calls back. I think that the UK telephonic system is a bit too complicated when for example people who live just a few miles away have to dial different digits for different areas just so they can be able to inform each other about the most common things. But, every country has a different and might I say interesting way of dealing with their citizens.
