People today have changed like never before. They move in a very fast, hard to keep up with pace. They are more demanding than ever. They seem to be very self absorbed and they always want to be right. They always like to seem on top of their game but actually they are all dreading loneliness.

People today want everything and if possible in the same time. They have grown up into a very picky consumer society. They know just how to consume and they are pretty hard to convince into giving something back as well. The people today make me somewhat afraid because they mainly think just about themselves and their needs where as I would have loved to see people worry for their peers as well.

And another big negative about people today is the fact that they want it all for free. And when I say all I literally mean all. Different services, various objects, emotions and so on. If it were up to them, they would never have to work for absolutely anything. Not even to be loved. Because you mostly have to work to deserve people’s affection.

I had recently heard a colleague shouting through the office: ” Hey, does someone here know a way to get anyone’s phone number and address for free?” I mean, has it really come down to this? Do we really need to get anyone’s phone number and address for free? Is it even ethical? Oh my, where do I start with the moral?

I guess I simply don’t start from anywhere. There is no point to it. Nobody will care. I mean, I guess that if you really want to have access to all these information for free, you should go online and look them up. But not this is the real issue. The thing that bothers me most is the question that starts with why. Why are we doing this? And why do we need this?

Is this really what we would want? Now, or in our children’s future. To have everyone’s infomation and therefore privacy exposed and sent out there, into a place where everyone can see it? I really don’t know if that is such a good idea. I tend to believe that it isn’t, once you will find yourself in that certain situation.

I mean, how would it be to browse the internet for your name, like many of us do these days just for fun, and then suddenly find out that all of your private data, which only you could have handed out before, now is available to everyone? Yeah, not so cool, I thought so.

The only way to put a stop to this is to start looking around you. Look at the people’s faces. Learn to appreciate the person that is next to you. And that will lead you to a healthier way of being with yourself.
