Cell Phone Numbers Going Public

Have you heard about this rumor? Have you read about this matter anywhere? Have you seen something about it on the news or anything like that? If you have, please let me know. Because I hear people on the street talking about it, I hear people at my office making jokes about  this. Some are funny and others… not so much. But is this really happening? Are cell phone numbers really going public?

I can’t recall exactly the first time I have ever heard someone mentioning this but it must have surely been somewhere over this past month. It’s quite a shock if you ask me, to hear about such a thing on the street. I mean if this is really happening, it should be looked at as a serious matter. Shouldn’t there be enough influential people to discuss and debate whether this is really the right way to go? Is there a good reason for cell phone numbers going public?

I am not saying that cell phone numbers going public is an absolutely bad idea but is this really what has become of an individual privacy? I can’t and do not want to imagine living( and growing up) in a world that really has no privacy limits. Even if there are many people claiming that boundaries are the things that create so many problems amongst us I do have a different stand.

Try imagining living in a world where every one can know exactly what you are up to everyone can reach you all the time and every one can have access to anything that you own. What would be next? A sci-fi scene of a few people being able to read everyone’s thoughts? If throwing down limits and boundaries continues in this fast pace, then we may find ourselves very close to the Sci-Fi scenery.

However, this rumor of cell phone numbers going public can turn out to be just this, a silly rumor. If it is proved to be so, well we really do not have anything to worry about.

But what about the future? What if not now, but maybe in a couple of years someone decides to take this idea and turn it into reality. I think that would be the time and space when all the problems will start. We have to stop being so careless and give each other more respect and consideration. That includes giving everyone around us the privacy they require as well. Being able to have a space and time just of your own keeps us mentally healthy and allows us to charge our energy packs to go on back into he world again and be the best that we can. This is what privacy gives you .
